2018 in brief

Norsk Tipping got a whole new image, its 10,000th million-kroner winner and awards for its work to promote responsible gaming and invest in digitalisation. These were just some of our highlights in 2018.

10,000 million-kroner winners!

22 December was a big day in the history of Norsk Tipping. In connection with our Supertrekning (Superdraw), no fewer than 41 players became Lotto millionaires and the company passed the magic 10,000 mark for million-kroner winners.

Cooperation with other countries

The Lotteries Entertainment Innovation Alliance (LEIA) is a collaborative venture formed by Norsk Tipping, Danske Spil (Denmark) Veikkaus (Finland) and La Française des Jeux (France). Our aim is to create a joint operational platform from which to offer new products to our customers and to consolidate our respective positions in our own domestic markets.

Recognition for proactive conversations

Norsk Tipping received the World Lotteries Association’s (WLA) Best Responsible Gaming Flagship Award for its work with proactive conversations during the association’s congress in Buenos Aires.

AI customer service with Ada

Norsk Tipping made great strides towards the customer service of the future when the chatbot Ada was introduced in November. She was named after the world’s first computer programmers and has trainers coaching her to provide our customers with ever better answers to their enquiries.

We won a digital customer award

Norsk Tipping came first in the “public sector enterprise” category in BearingPoint’s analysis of Norwegian companies’ digital maturity seen from the customer’s perspective. The functionality of our various platforms, customer service and digital presence were just some of the features evaluated.

Marit Bjørgen – a new Grassroots Ambassador

In October, Norsk Tipping proudly announced that skiing star Marit Bjørgen had joined our team of ambassadors for the Grassroots ski trainer course. The course is aimed at people who want to be ski trainers for beginners and to facilitate effective skills development.

500,000 people woke up with Norsk Tipping

The campaign "Vekking fra Hamar" (Wake-up call from Hamar) was very popular with the almost 500,000 people who signed up for the service. Most received a friendly message that it was time to get up, and four people won a prize of NOK 50,000. The overall winner won no less that NOK 1 million.

The "new" Norsk Tipping

On 8 October we unveiled Norsk Tipping's new company profile – with more stylish colours, an upgraded lottery cross logo and new visuals. Together with innovation, better products and improved services and distribution, our new image will help us achieve our ambition to excite a new generation.

A special week focusing on safe and secure gambling

The idea behind Spillevettuka (Responsible Gambling Week) was to increase awareness among our customers and other stakeholders about healthy gambling habits, and to disseminate knowledge about gambling. Events arranged by the company included breakfast seminars in Oslo. Films focusing on the "Seven Rules of Healthy Gambling" were transmitted on TV and digital media.

Henrik (24) became Norsk Tipping's two millionth customer

On 10 June, Norsk Tipping registered its two millionth customer. When we called Henrik Siljehaug Holtesmo, he was in his canoe in Femundsmarka. His prize was a personalised VIP experience at a sports event.

Best in customer services

During the "Call Centre Days" in Oslo in April, Norsk Tipping’s Customer Services were voted winner of the "Open Class" category. This was important recognition of our work to make our customers' communication with the company as good and effective as possible.
